" Can we please have an erection? What the hell is going on down there?"
Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex * but were afraid to ask - a Woody Allen film. At first I thought this movie was a miss. I find that Woody Allen's films are often hit or miss - Annie Hall versus The Secret of the Jade Scorpion. But after discussing this film with a friend I realized that in fact I only disliked two segments of the film completely and was pretty amused by the rest of the film.
The movie is divided into seven segments:(1) Do Aphrodisiacs Work? (2) What is Sodomy?
(3) Do Some Women Have Trouble Reaching Orgasm?(4) Are Transvestites Homosexuals?(5) What Are Sex Perverts? (6) Are the Findings of Doctors and Clinics Who Do Sexual Research Accurate? (7) What Happens During Ejaculation?
Each segment of the film is a homage to genre of film. The film does end a high note - Woody Allen plays a sperm and Burt Reynolds is the switchboard operator of the brain of the man about to have sex. I think segments (4) and (6) could have been left out. I thought segment (5) was mostly funny especially seeing such a young Regis Philbin.
Overall a worthwhile watch and not just for the Woody Allen fans.
