"She chose mad, right?

Bewitched - a star studded cast that I was not aware of grace the cast of this film. Of course we knew about Nicole Kidman, Will Ferrell, Shirely MacLaine, and Michael Cain. But also in the film were Steve Carell, Jason Schwartzman, Kristin Chenoweth, and David Alan Grier. The film makers attempted to try something new rather than a hodge-podge of episodes jammed into one film, they instead created a new and yet old storyline.

Nicole Kidman plays Isabel Bigelow. She is a witch who has decided to give up her magical abilities and try to be normal. Will Ferrell plays Jack Wyatt a movie star who has lost his shine. His agent (Jason) convinces him to play Darrin in a new tv remake of Bewitched. His agent also convinces Jack to make the show all about him. Therefore, the studio needs to hire a no body to play Samantha. Hence Isabel is hired. Romantic comedy ensues.

This movie does have some laugh out loud funny moments. Michael Caine is delightful as Isabel's father. Kristen Chenoweth is adorable as Isabel's neighbor. Steve Carell is perfect as Uncle Arthur. I am not sure this is worth a rental but it would be worth it to watch on HBO or Showtime or Cinemax.
