"Katie, there's a penis is your pocket." "It's not mine."

Red Doors - this was a great film. I recognized some of the actors in this film but there was no one who is really well known.

The story surrounds the Wong family. The patriarch, Ed, has just retired. His oldest daughter, Sam, is getting married. His middle daughter, Julie, is studying to become a doctor with no husband in sight. His youngest daughter, Katie, is ready to head off to college. The movie follows each person's life. Ed is at lose ends. He is getting older and not adjusting well. He spends his time attempting to commit suicide and transferring his old vhs home videos on to DVD. Sam is planning her wedding and runs into an ex who reminds her of dreams she gave up. Julie is thrown into the path of a movie star who is researching her next movie role. Katie is practicing her hip hop routine while trading spars with a boy.

This is your typical dysfunctional family comedy drama. It is set in the suburbs of New York with some trips into the Big Apple. All in all, this is a great movie. My only complaint is that it is a hair to short. Even having stated that I did enjoy the ending, I think if you enjoyed Saving Face, The Family Stone, or Home for the Holidays, you'll enjoy this film. Even if you hated those movies, rent this it is funny, sweet, charming, and delightful.
