"Who is Howard? Where is Howard?

Don't Come Knocking - an indie film that took 5 years to make it to you DVD rental store. Sony Pictures Classic and I have quite a thing going on - how I heard about this film. Howard Spense is an aging movie actor. He is quite the lone cowboy. He is also into women, drugs, drink and gambling. When the movie begins Howard is running away from his latest film. At the end of his rope he returns to his mother's home after an absence of 30 years.

On his tail is Tim Roth, a sort of bounty hunter, he is paid by the movie studio to find Howard and bring him back to his movie per his contract. Howard while at his mother's is informed that he has a child. Unsure of what to do with his life he goes in search of his child. He returns to the small Montana town where he filmed his first movie and apparently knocked up Jessica Lange. This movie actually has some interesting moments concerning relationships, learning, life, and love.

This movie was overall pretty enjoyable. There were some funny and poignant moments. Again it has the odd indie movie elements of periods of nothing, at least there was an ending. Select people will enjoy this film, even though they took a year to edit it, it could have stood a little more editing. Less Howard falling apart and more Howard dealing with the relationships thrown his way. Catch a midnight showing.
