"Am I poser?" "No, why who told you that?" "A boy."

Long Life, Happiness & Prosperity - Sandra Oh plays a single mother of a twelve year old girl, Mindy, who is in need of money and love. Mindy is desperate to make her mother's life better. She employs Taoist charms to assist her.

This film is divided into three storylines: Mindy and her mother; the butcher and his family; and finally a security guard who is given a severance package and his wife. All three story lines interact somewhat marginally but are connected by Mindy's magic apparently.

I enjoyed this film. Very sweet love stories, family interactions, and again a window into the Chinese Culture. This film was ambiguously set, therefore I had to watch through the credits to see where this was filmed - Canada. Sandra Oh is adorable as a somewhat broken yet totally lovely mom. The actress who plays her daughter is delightful - she toes the line as to being an annoying child actor but stays just this side of it. Adorable movie in Chinese and English - I liked it, and would label it a worthwhile view.
